chocolate experience
Wednesday 22nd April 2026 10am-1pm
£95 per person*
*Workshop limited to 12 places
A relaxed, practical workshop suitable for anyone who enjoys working with (and eating!) chocolate. The session will begin with a talk by Bobbie Garbutt, owner of L’Esterre Chocolate, followed by a hands-on chocolate making workshop led by professional chef and chocolatier Amy Levin.
During the class, you will make chocolate bars using moulds - just as the pros do - choosing the flavour and design as a group. You will also create your own bespoke pralines using fun textures and natural flavour extracts, which are dipped, garnished and packed into boxes to take home. Finally, you will make traditional truffles using just four main ingredients, tasting as you go to develop flavour, before dipping them in chocolate and finishing them in cocoa powder.
By the end of the session, you will have a new appreciation for how chocolate is made and why good chocolate is so expensive. You will leave with a box of everything you have made during the class - typically 10–15 chocolates and a chocolate bar - all of which will keep for several weeks, if they last that long.
The workshop is informal and welcoming, with time to ask questions, learn new skills and get creative. Come with friends or family, or join on your own and meet others who share a love of chocolate.
