Kiftsgate Tearoom
The Tearoom at Kiftsgate is run by Marguerite Bell and her husband David. Marguerite has developed a keen following of loyal garden visitors who come as much for her tea as for the delights of the garden. And no wonder: All the cakes are home-made and include Lemon Drizzle Cake, Coffee Cake and around Easter time a rich traditional Simnel Cake.
Enjoy a cream tea at anytime with freshly made scones, clotted cream and jam.
Coeliacs are catered for with a delicious gluten free fruitcake.
There is also a selection of cookies and tray bakes for you to choose from.
The tearoom is open throughout the season and serves a wide selection of Teas, Rombouts Coffee, Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate and a variety of drinks and Ice Creams until 5pm.
Lunches are served during May, June and July until 2pm.
A typical selection might be:
- Home-made Vegetable Soup
- Ploughman’s Lunch (a traditional platter of Ham, Pate or Cheese served with bread, a salad garnish and home-made pickles and chutneys).
- Salad Buffet. Choose from a variety of cold meats, fish, cheeses or vegetable tart and then help yourself from the buffet of fresh salads with roll and butter.
If you would like to make a Group booking for the Tearoom or want more information, please contact Marguerite by telephone on 01386 438819 or by email.
